Allen Scheck
I've been an avid fan of video games since I was 3 years old and learned to navigate MS-DOS to get to the games on my mom's PC.
I have almost a decade of IT experience, including workstation support, networking, and Power Platform development.
I have a degree in computer science and built several conceptual games and other programs during my degree but took a hiatus from development for a few years to focus on work and family. I am very excited to be a part of the development world again.
When I'm not working on my game or at my day job, I can be found:
Spending time with my wife and daughters.
Playing puzzle or adventure games.
A Slight VR Obsession
I've experienced the shaky history of VR though the years, but I was blown away by the Quest 2 - my first real VR headset - and dove headfirst into the world of VR. I've even fashioned my own budget omnidirectional treadmill.
My passion project for over a year has been the development of Catastrophic Inversion, a multiplayer VR shooter which allows several people to run around together in complex, multi-story VR maps in a gym or any large space with no joysticks, teleporting, or other artificial-feeling locomotion. It is now available for purchase on Meta Quest and I'm frequently adding to it.
If you're interested in VR but haven't looked into it yet, it's more accessible now than ever. Check out my tips for getting started with VR.
